Experience from 100 years of agriculture and industrial applications

The Horstkötter GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Beckum in 1921 and is now in the 4th generation as a family business. As a leading manufacturer in technical plant construction, we focus on conveying, silo, cleaning and drying technology for bulk materials in industry and agriculture.
In our projects we intensively support the customer from the first customer contact, through the offer and order phase to installation and subsequent commissioning. Already during the planning phase we are always in close contact with our customers and discuss plant concepts together using 3D visualisations. Our production site in Beckum, with its approx. 70 employees and state of the art machinery, also stands for a large vertical range of manufacturing equipment and a fast reaction time.

HISTORY

1921

Foundation of the the company Horstkötter & Deppe KG by Hans Horstkötter at the Nordwall in Beckum as a manufacturer of ball bearings and ball bearing housings.

1922

Construction of a production hall with adjoining administration office and move to the current company location at Siechenbach 15, 59269 Beckum.

1925

The importance and development potential of agricultural industrialisation was recognised early on and innovative technical developments such as hay and straw blowers have made a decisive contribution to facilitating the work of grain harvesting on farms.

1946

Further development of conveyor blowers for grain, which will become one of the most important sales drivers in the next two decades.

The trademark, the TORNADO vortex, dates from this period.

1956

Dipl.-Kfm. Werner Horstkötter takes over the management.

1950-1970

The product range is consistently expanded to include mechanical conveyors. Silo production begins and from 1959 the Horstkötter company also offers drying technology. In the sixties the product portfolio is rounded off by grinding/dosing systems for feed production. Through extensive investments, the production area is adapted to the growing requirements.

1987

In addition to agriculture, the food processing industry is establishing itself as a second pillar.

1990

Reunification in Germany opens up new markets. The Horstkötter company expands its range to include more powerful technology for large farms and establishes itself as a leading supplier of large grain plants thanks to its many years of experience in the agricultural field.

1994

Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Horstkötter takes over the management.

1995

The first large agricultural plant is assembled in Romania. The internationalisation of the business is progressing.

1998

With the tube chain conveyor “TRK 160”, the product range is rounded off by a 4th series at the top in order to meet the increasing conveying capacities of the industry.

2000

Introduction of a 3D-CAD software for construction and plant design.

2001

The first brewery is supplied with mechanical conveyor technology from the Horstkötter company.

2006-2008

Modernisation of the production buildings and move to a new administration building.

2010

Market launch of our new feeding computer “Tornamix” for automatic weight or volume dosing in grinding & mixing plants.

2011

Installation of the largest solar power system in the city at the time on the roofs of the production buildings with an electric power of 421 kWp.

2018

Digitalisation of internal logistics to cope with the increasing volume of shipments.

2020

Mr. Christian Horstkötter (M.Sc.) joins the management.

Continuous modernisation of the machine park and extension by a flexible welding robot.
